Before I forget - the serious compliments to the cover on the pullbox. My favorite cover lately. And secondly - serious compliments to Cary Nord for going outside of the boundary - and really trying something different with the style and set-up of this comic. A unique design - heavily reliant on the white tones - and something I never would have imagined worked. The comic does amazing stuff. It continues the story - and a lighter set. Changed Aric back to a more representative and simplistic style of barbarian. Great re-work there. A surprisingly quick read, too. Flowed from panel to panel easily. And memorable. Gave Aric a real spine as a leader - both in his willingness to fight without the armor - and fight well on equal ground - both vulnerable and powerful as an assailant - but willing to be merciful - and make a distinct statement to his tribe - but also to Volo - that he is the leader - but that members of the tribe should also be respected, as well. Although the comic focused primarily on them - the closing and opening scenes of Ninjak - and highlighting the Unity team - back to save him - show his own determination - and the specific agenda to work it out. Nice to have more to write about this month.
