Sounds like a terrible title, right? And I hammered this awful villain into a complete obscurity. He SHOULD have died on that bridge. Unfortunately, he's brought back. Stunningly enough, the story isn't terrible. It might even be mediocre. The book is a QUICK read. Giant panels - and really that hard and soft Bloodshot style - really reminiscent of the early Eternal Warrior stuff under Shooter. That's a compliment. While the story does a lot with the way it is written, I wouldn't put that making into the category of good. It's a why did we go here? Why is Bloodshot even involved with really watching all of this? Helping them? I mean, it's the mob, but are they really obsessed with kicking circus freaks out of some bad land to attack? And the cover is a bit more than hokey. "Jump into the air, but twist into some falling down stance.... Brilliant!"
Back to the surface
The comic begins with a story of the Sub-Mariner. First, I wanted to say that whomever ended up with some of these full page spreads that appear in this - and other comics like it. You are some lucky sons of guns. Wish I were you. The story introduced in these comics is rather excellent, as well. Love the Sub-Mariner, as always - one of the most rounded characters. And strangely enough, he's coming around to confronting Hank Pym as a scientist. Brilliant work there. Hulk is actually getting a little better as it is going. Great story twist - to introduce the Hulk and Banner as the same guy. Of course, it won't last, but it is a nice little set to get us going. Hulk as more than a SMASH guy is a much better character, too.
