But I am still pretty glad that they did it. When I think about those anniversary blow-out issues of my youth - I always struggled to find many of the real set-up issues that were really MIND-blowing - and not just crazed concepts. Even a few attempts to make something more than it really was faltered miserably. I am consistently reminded of the New Mutants 100 third printing - versus the 98 that now may be one of the most valuable books of that era. 94 vs 100. 400 vs 404. ANY annual, really. This didn't make or break anything - but it was a pretty distinctly fun ride. Loved the attitude behind - and reminding us that really at his core, this guy is more machine than man at the end. It's one of the times that I kept thinking about the connection to Deathlok in this comic - not that Deathlok is like that - just that Bloodshot this time around really seems to show more of the machine side. The sideline stories were fun - if a little rough - all in all a worthwhile read, but don't kill yourself.
Better than PSI-Force
But still a mess here at the end. It just has felt so disjointed - and not certain if it's desperate to wrap up, or fighting for survival - but it isn't as worthy as it just was. The powers that be have imbibed this crazy new power from back in time - and are trying to get everything together - and it just doesn't work too well. Be happy to get to the end.
