This comic is pretty darned good. Not sure if it's harshly drawing the line, or re-building the past, but it is pretty good. Nice to see Paul coming back some - even if it's just the sub-conscious. Great concept story - the back and forth conflict inside of Pol-Bekhara - trying to capture the consciousness of the alien - and Paul's control. Of course he goes back to Randy. Nice shake to the story. Not a fan of the art reverting and changing - while keeping the look of the cover. But the story is fun, active, violent, and excellent. What I am looking for in a fast-paced story.
The FREAK?
So, Happy is the Freak, right? Sad. But amazingly enough, the comic LOOKS great. The art has jumped ahead leaps and bounds to really latch onto the classic "Silver Age" look in these issues. The dialogue has improved, as well, but the panels and changes in placement are really starting to carve out this modern era of comics and look 45 years ago. Amazing to behold. The Captain America comic, on the other hand, is painful to read. The villain is Batroc, the leaper. Someone should be fired. He is a mustachioed silly Frenchman that could portray in Monty Python's Holy Grail kind of melodrama.
