I guess that the company needed to use the old HARD Corps eventually, right? I don't know WHY it had to change them SO much. Well, maybe I do. The end of that 30 one, wowswers. But the comic is better than it has been lately. It gets a little more streamlined - with thinking along in the battle. And it adds the bit of complexity - with him fighting being passed out - or dreaming back and forth. I did like the execution finish on the villains side - even though I never really understood why a villain would destroy one of his own allies. It's starting to get back to the middle ground - action - with some simple story behind itself - but without going so far as the pound-pound junk.
This was a painful mess to read.
While I was following along with this, I found my mind wandering. FREQUENTLY. Stan - and most of the earliest creators of these comics had a penchant for creating great characters - and many of the scenarios. But when any treading onto the grounds of scientific background... Woefully under-knowledgeable. This one is to a point of real interaction with the story. If you've kept up with my reading - you know my internal obsession with centrifugal vs. centripetal force, right? Sadly, the comic also explores the origin of the Crusher - I would say a character of somewhat minor importance at least, over the years. And his history is badly botched in this re-telling. I am embarrassed to say that the comic has gotten so painful. Especially considering the fact that much of the Tales of Suspense comic was so good at the end.
