August 9, 2013 - The change does make a difference
The art takes a step back,
And the writing took about five steps back. What before seemed slick, surprising, and interesting - now seems plotted and easy to see right down the line. Everything seems to be WAY too clearly telegraphing its own punches already. Perhaps the writing over the last four issues was sort of a one-trick pony kind of thing. I like the idea of a nerd-let getting vengeance on those who lead him - even if said nerd-let was a bit of a crazy man. The list of ideas that he kept punching around was seriously great, though. It's brainstorming at its purest. NO bad ideas. No loss of output. Just put these things up, and whatever sticks, STICKS. Tish is getting annoying again - especially when Donovan HAS his other girl, But whatever.
Even Iron Man makes the mistake.
He LOOKS like a Titanium Man with a new chestplate. But it's just a man. The demolisher is a decent idea - but this is the kind of thing that COULD be extended - at least over TWO issues. Make the first the mad man, and the second one more of the failure of programming. The story is decent - and I am noticing that the comic is really starting to make a change on the panels - larger to show the action. And that's getting more mature. I wish that Tony would become a better scientist in these comics - and less of the Playboy mentality. Seeing the outside of Stark industries - the competitor - showed a bit more of this, and more will come. But right now, the change is coming too slowly. When does TONY get to the Bronze Age?
Both are mediocre
Choosing one over the other doesn't make sense here.
