The issue is fair. And nice homage covers, by the way. Really can see that. But it misses some of the dialogue it builds into the writing. The opportunity for this guy to live in the armor - for an issue or two - and really play around is one that I am surprised the comic didn't LEAP into. I mean, I know that Waid leaving the book had to change some things, but this was too nice an idea to scrap. The dialogue is fun - but WAY too little. I mean, put some self-absorbed jerk into the suit - and AWAY it goes. That writes itself! Of course the guy would go to an amusement park. THAT would be fantastic. Tish is a crazed person - and good to see the comic also showing that Magnus is a crazy person, too. They may be fit for one another. But so much of the dialogue with Magnus figuring out the car - silly. Too far.
This cover is a mess.
I wish that the writers of the current - I mean, 1960's - Iron Man would go back and read some of the old Tales stories. Most of these have been barely memorable and sort of blending one into the next. There is very little to stand out in any of these stories at all. And that's too bad. The art is okay, but Happy's alter ego - a terrible looking Frankenstein returns? It actually started out bad, then began to get better as it transitioned into Tony's real problems, and we recalled what Iron Man had done to help himself. Then, when the freak returned it was just bludgeoning steel in the air and bad fight scenes. We'll see. But for now, this book isn't really passable.
