A few masterful pieces of dialogue in this one. It fills in the spaces before arrival in Las Vegas - and I'm not really certain why it didn't bear some kind of read this first or that first. But the comic is great. I do love the whole rebuilding using available proteins perspective. That came through subtle channels back when, but this time it's terrifyingly clear. I also loved Bloodshot's quip about trying to get nostalgic with someone who can't remember his own past. But the action is fantastic. If you can hold your lunch past the skull thing, it's great to see him fighting back against - and his responses to being attacked - that the guys have some sort of a diagram. While it isn't as strong as Harbinger, it's doing a rather good job holding out its own end against some of the misery coming against him. And love the Contra cover. Awesome.
Don't judge THIS book by its cover.
I looked at it, and thought, "Oh, no. That garbage is back again?" But it really has closed the door on its past. While the turnover probably won't be COMPLETELY finished for a few months, the page has turned. Tensen has now abandoned the old turquoise lightning bolt outfit, and the title has actually changed over from the old JVSTICE that Mads laughed about. It has new life again. It fast-forwards far into the future, and into the emotions of a kinder, gentler man. Certainly, he's more like the Punisher now - and that probably leads to the title's eventual demise, but for now it's MUCH more readable. He acts with SHADES of gray - even seeing that some men have SOME good within them, and are willing to live. He lets some survive - and even uses his shield for a bit more than just deflecting bolts. He's attacking with it in a way that allows these opponents to live. Not bad. The DEMON that rises here is even destroyed in a not too shabby manner, too.
