A cool concept for this story - back and forth with Turok - starting in the present day and whisking back and forth to tell this parallel story. But I really have little interest in who he may have been kissing in the present day story, though. I liked the old story - and the title, too. Son of stone. Nice, It really gets me back in contact with that OLD Turok and his stories. This may be one of the few places in comics where the OLD stories were the most open-minded - AND the old stories were somewhat consistently better. Now, I know that's not ALL the time. But some of these doozies. This is fair, but not great. Interested to see where it's headed.
Back to the basics.
Yes, comics are soap operas for boys. But bringing back the standard setup villain is a great idea. Juggernaut is a great villain - and with the added connection to Xavier - it works. While this isn't the most masterful thing I have ever read, it works. Seeing Cain again - beautifully drawn - adds to the comic, as well. Not as great as a few issues ago, but it is an improvement. While the initial villains - those bikers - are WAY too crazy silly - the end pf the second act here is great. I also really liked the fact that Juggernaut could not care any less about the Factor Three - and yet he still decides to use them as much as he can in the scenario.
