And it doesn't really give away anything from the story - mostly because it didn't happen like this at all. The issue has such a strong start - and great to see Chen on the pencils. But it just is so unfulfilling. I loved the Proteus power of 'eating' and absorbing the flesh. Although I don't know why it would eat everything EXCEPT the skull. That seems dumb. But the loss of his kids seemed like such an abandonment of a story that had a bunch of potential. Loss of Jillian as a mother and character is bad, too. Of course, I am ultimately complaining about a comic that is being cancelled - or re-imagined - changing its direction. And that seems redundant, too.
Sad how it ends. And ends.
The beginning of the Sub-Mariner story is a great idea. People are living underwater, and invading - this could have made this multi-issue arc. Instead, they are defeated by some old bad Daredevil villain discard who kind of defeats Namor from inside a sub for a while. Wow, this is pathetic at the end. The Hulk story tries to bring the Hulk to a new environment, and it is a cool idea - but wrecked when the High Evolutionary shows up. Remember when this didn't stink? Back in the beginning? THAT is what needs to be followed.
