For the last few issues, Magnus has been discussing Armstrong and hunting for Armstrong. Gotta find Armstrong. And what DO ya know? It's Armstrong. Who the world ever wrote this garbage into this crummy story needs to be put out of their writing misery. This story has the sincere potential to not be garbage, but instead, puts its face right into the gravy train of junk. And loves it. The art is still at best junk, and badly cartoonish. The dialogue is bad, and the situations - silly and juvenile. It's like the dialogue at the end of a junky James Bond film. Please, oh please. End this.
For a guy that's only supposed to watch...
If the Watcher is only supposed to watch, how come he gets so darned involved ALL the time? This comic is an iconic one, opening up the star scape of the Marvel Universe. Galactus appears on the last frame, and I won't nitpick the costume change, coloring, nor the G on his belt. But he really isn't the important part of the book. Of course, Silver Surfer appears in this book. But really, it isn't even what is iconic. It's the feel and shaping of the book issue to issue that molds the comic into what it is today. The serialization of the storyline, and holding over until next time. In addition, the characters - Skrulls, for example, feel the turn of the world, and importance of Galactus as a character. He seems much smaller here, of course. Thankfully he lands RIGHT where the FF are. But the waves of the story are felt widely. When the LCS trumpeted receiving one of these, it was gone within an hour.
Not a contest
Fantastic Four 48 is the standard of the era and this book.
