I was just talking the other day on the Valiantfans.com board about the many not quite dead problems in the comics. But sorry - this one really worked for me. In nearly every way. It brings about Paul's death - sacrificed to bring about the new armor. It is one of the best things in Valiant comics - the reality of the books. We don't need to see any of the action, killing, or death. The issue itself is pretty darned good. It's heartfelt, interesting, and we are on the edge of our seat. While we know where the story will end up at the end of the book - the story is amazing. Excellent.
Of course. It's the Moon Men.
The Iron Man story is crap. Complete and total garbage. Tony goes mad? Sees things that his cousin projects, but then really DOES see some Moon Men in the sky? Wow. We needed some serious writers here. The comic even warns you before you turn the page to see these Hulk-like creatures that attack Iron Man. If you were some silly alien, wouldn't you not attack at the place where Iron Man was? The Cap story isn't a TON better - but it at least follows some general sensible nature of a story. Maybe I don't like war stories - or maybe this writer is a hack. These are disappointing nearly every month. I'd prefer Hulk.
