Sincere apologies for going to that level. That one hurt even me. But like I started in the last issue - I like the fact that the armor has disintegrated itself. But I wish it had been another character from the past - even VH1 - to attack him. This way - it sort of seemed like something too new to enter into the space. And the comic has changed more than a little from the front end - and it had a re-invention in the end of its run. But this way around - seeing the trampy people - and Donovan's unsuccessful proposal. Fair - but kooky. I like the new armor voice - just like in the old run - but markedly different, ok? Just speaking with the armor's conscience - and getting advice - even if Rand has sort of done a crummy job at it. And don't ya THINK that Donovan - the dumbest character smart guy EVER would have SOME clue that the armor had been battling this crazed silly stupid bomb inside himself? That he MIGHT have had SOME inkling before 47 seconds before the end that SOMETHING was happening here? Alright... It makes for the drama.
Hooray. LMDs.
LMD's are the worst Marvel standard bad character plot device. This time, though... THE LMD GOES BAD! When Stark industry is bombed - the LMD is awoken in the rubble from his slumber - and even though he's an EXACT replica of Tony, being buried makes him wander around the entire city - re-signing signature cards? Really? For some reason - the LMD is able to do that? Okay. LOOK BEYOND THAT. And when I do - the story becomes.. Well... decent. I won't say great, here. But Madame Masque feels like a better villain. And although Midas is WAY too overexaggerated (Kingpin worked. NOW make something FATTER!) I like that he's got Tony's brother wrapped around his finger. And the last few panels - seeing Tony taken away - and the image of him on the billboard stuck there while he's being taken away. THAT was great set-up.
