A messy part of the story. I love this act. The action gets going and stressful for our heroes. A couple of brutal executions, too. We can absolutely see the upgrade of story in this one. The 'true sight' assault is particularly swift and specific. I like the re-imagining of a few characters. Shakespeare, in particular, seemed somewhat dated - and this ticking time bomb - the cancer - and his new self - much like a bad Shakespeare parody - is welcome. All of these guys seem broken. Especially Maniac. He seems like more than a loose cannon. The kids are also really starting to wear on one another. Not certain how this battle might affect them - but in reality - this would really crush them. It's pretty sad that most of these guys don't even face the HARD Corps yet - and they are already facing so much death. Of course, the last panels foreshadow Harada's return and the later conflict. Let's see.
Changes aren't always all good.
It seemed strange to just launch into the story here - not much reflection back into the last issue at all - nor what transpired since the PSI-Force lost and gained a new member. And most of the comic feels different - again. We travel back to Stasi's past to see the connection to her homeland - and find that she doesn't always have the ability to heal. Much of the story seems to revolve - again - around taking the kids to use the healing ability - and the tough decisions faced within. Nice to see that not all 'commies' are portrayed so flat. The change was welcome - and the inclusion of the Munchhausen syndrome by proxy - probably really before it could be named in the public eye - was cool, too.
