Lately, my wife has taken to saying, "barf," whenever something that she hates is mentioned. Like Tom Brady. This may be my Brady-moment. So much in here had so much potential. Even last issue it had a real chance to grab the new section, and really shoot forward. Instead, we get this lovesick puppy dog Magnus who now fawns over Leeja. Really? The guy is now asking to find out if she likes him? And he's fawning over pictures of her on his computer? And her Dad greets him with some stupid grin - only after the false furrowed brow? Take a look at the cover of the next issue. That's how saccharine this junk has become.
Why, oh WHY?
So, the beginning of this one sort of closes out the last Mole Man story. Tied up on a cabinet, he's convinced them to let him go. Now remember... They defeated him by taking off his glasses in the last comic. And he's able to escape by listening to the computers, feeling the floor, and jumping through one of the many holes that lead back into the underground lair below. And the team doesn't stop him. Because putting him away would be cruel, says Reed. Wow. That is a trip. The second part re-intros the Skrull of the comic - who runs around impersonating people, and gets Thing to follow him back and shoots him with a nerve thing. And off to slavery.
