This one continues the whole smash kill robots storyline that I still think is pretty junky, but is an immense improvement over the garbage that Acclaim had been putting out for a while. But it also took a tremendous SMALL step in the right direction over the last few tiny bits at the end of the comic. While I still don't really think that turning Leeja into a pseudo-villain really has helped the comic - it does have some real shades of character development beyond the good guy or black hat versions of nearly every character so far. It also developed the possibility of using the liquitech metal inside of some of the tainted robots - and that could have been a real boon for the comic - had it been developed within the writing of the comic - instead of only at the end of the run of this one. Good turn - but still much too small a segment within a whole smash kill comic.
Tied up
I think that the no name kid is bordering on child abuse at this point. For crying out loud! It;s six more issues until he gets named! I guess that I would have been okay with not naming him until that point - but the stories just KEEP referring to the fact that he has no name - STILL! And then, Sue has found a mystery looking house - WAY off in the middle of nowhere. Made from strange futuristic materials. It somehow... Looks inconspicuously like a flying saucer. "My head hurts" Hmmm... The best thing of course? LET'S GO INSIDE! Are you freaking kidding me? Stun bolts shoot out from the walls - and Reed says it's an accident? Booby traps installed by previous owners - but let's just BE MORE CAREFUL? In fact, let's bring in all of our stuff - and sit down to dinner! But wait. Suddenly, I am blind. And that distracting hum - that never REALLY bothered me until now.... The MOLE man?
