Of course, it's completely the wrong direction, but it's starting to have some. It;s becoming a lot more like the original mess that Magnus was spawned from back in the Sixties - but it has some ability to develop itself through this mess. This was a perfect place to write something out of the 1-A virus that might have really been an idea to go back in time to the initial Valiant Magnus setup. Instead, he turns back into the mass execution machine that he was both at the end of the Valiant run - bad. And the early Gold Key stuff. Dated. So now, we've got this hybrid mess of a character that draws upon the worst of his history. But it's still better than it has been.
Really? This is the battle?
I didn't know if I thought that this would be the most off-beat ending of the year. Really, I thought it would be yet ANOTHER Doom Bot. At least it wasn't that. But giving up the fight? Sure. Doom has done that loads of times. He's usually more defeated. But I wish he'd had some motivation for his withdrawal from the battle - or that it felt more motivated. This was a strange ending - elimination of his ally. And he had certainly gone way more than out of crazy control. But it was strange to see the changes in the fight - and taking the girls in for dinner - and then just letting them head out after everything had settled. Think I am actually leaning to Magnus.
