I gotta say - I was a little underwhelmed at the start of this comic. It kept flashing around from place to place and back again. It flipped so much, that I wasn't entirely certain all of the time how it had made any sense of anything. But it had a beautiful moment - that opened up the end of the comic beautifully. Gotta say - the timeline at the end of the comic - brilliant idea to put that back on the end and tell us again where every place was supposed to go. But the best part of the comic was really hiding each character's absolutely essential motivation. What am I saying... The best part was hiding Darque's essential motivation until the end of the comic. I really felt that the book was going to end with Darque executing Turok's roommate. And I gotta say - I am impressed by the way this Acclaim really wrapped up the old Turok - NOT in the current timeframe - back INTO the current stories again. Great work.
Another great issue
This is one of the comics that really highlights the golden era of our Avengers team coming into its greatest strengths. I guess that I never really realized that Black Panther was such an integral part of this section of the run. It is GREAT stuff to see him in all of this. Black Knight's horse is named Aragorn? How did I miss that? SWEET! Nice to see him back, again. One of my faves from MY modern Avengers readings. But the real gem of this book is Ultron. He's a great character - and already starting with the gap of Ultrons behind him. Most certainly he developed throughout the comics - but he's created here WITH the gap intact. NOT answering all of these questions from the moment he hits the ground running is a real success. Nice work. While the comic wraps quickly, the art and the battles are beautifully created, and felt through the pages. Jarvis's emotions are particularly great.
