In more ways than I know. First, the Timewalker stories - excepting RIGHT at the end, have been bad for quite a while now. It was in desperate need of a serious overhaul for a while. Secondly, this came out MONTHS after the last Timewalker comic. Lastly, I didn't find out that my original review never was posted until recently - and the FF's were way behind, too. Thankfully, this comic is much better than many of the recent ones have been. I know that it would have been difficult to follow most of the comic from this perspective - I mean, how COULD it have been written from there? But this story FINALLY has some heart to it. More than certainly it's because it went back to the Timewalker origin, and really connected forward and backward with SO much in there. But really! THIS could have been it, kids. THIS!
Reed, you are always brilliant.
One thing I do want to still give the Fantastic Four credit for - is that on multiple occasions, they have really created an ending that seemed quite plausible. Even though this came from left field - it was brilliant to put this together. We follow the red herring laid at our feet last issue. See the little thing that distracted? That made someone mad? I know someone ELSE who will follow that bad boy, too. And HE will lose everything when he decides to do that. Of COURSE! Surfer CAN'T leave the earth. Reed, you are brilliant. I am a sucker for a good ending - especially an unexpected - but plausible one.
Wow.
Both are good. I would give it to FF. But Timewalker being good here, makes me lean there.
