Certainly these writers had put themselves into a corner. But really, what are you to do with a story about a man who is a God, right? No one could ever believe that story. And certainly, it couldn't be written about for a long time. Even if it were, it's not like the stories could transcend time, right?
Smell that? Sarcasm.
These writers have given up at this point, returning to the old characters, and instead of growing them anymore, they are instead twisting them into something different. And destroy Texas? Yes, the company is ending - and it does really open the opportunity for Acclaim's re-opening. But too over the top.
Gotta confess.
I never really read (m)any Shocker comics - and I always thought that the Shocker character was just an Electro knock-off. Sounds right, eh? Of course he isn't - but the description doesn't exactly make him the most fearsome dude, either. Especially when all we have to do is tie up those thumbs, right? The pace of the comic is much quicker - in places, at least. Not CERTAIN if I love it or not - but it is an interesting story. I hated the last few panels, though. Spider-Man losing the capacity for happiness? Really? Sad is what defeats him? That seems silly - but the rest of the comic is pretty good.
