It's a shame to see much of SOLAR getting wasted, rather frequently. He is a GREAT character, but the writings seem to attack silly weaknesses within the stories. I do like the foil back and forth between Harada and SOLAR. It's an excellent black and white conflict - with stark grays falling across both of them. SOLAR's saving of the Harbinger shuttle was an interesting concept, although I don't know if it was ever really touched in any story ever again. That's too bad. Could have been a great section. But SOLAR has been getting much weaker lately. Heck, I think I liked Secret Weapons better last month.
A Spider-Man comic was this good.
Even at the start, so much of the feel of the book is changing. Lovely cover, and it gets better. The art, coloring, and frames - plus the increasing size - really start to fill in many of the parts - quickly. It gets bigger and bigger and bigger as the frames go, and I FEEL every strain through them. Awesome. Then reality comes crashing back over the book. It isn't bad at the ending, and usually I would think that the comic was good - exploring the reality of the character. But in this case, when the beginning was SO good, the end just didn't come close at all. I did love the reveal at the end of Kraven. Welcome back!
