It's too bad that this concept comes at this point in the comic's run. If it had been earlier, it might have been believable. Later, and I would have felt more for it. Here, it seems pretty silly. I like the fact that Gayle becomes more of an attacking person - she isn't just some dumb girl, as my wife would say. But the story is painfully bad - like locking a God in a closet bad. I kept thinking of when the Super Friends used to get Mister Mxyzptlk to say his name backward to lock him in another dimension - and it always seemed hokey. This falls in that category. The cover isn't representative of any scene really, either.
Nice to see him lose it a bit.
Sometimes - even a guy as perfect as Peter Parker has to let loose a little - and really kick some.... tail. That's what happens here. By a silly set of coincidences, Peter is set up to attack Doc Ock's men, and goes on a city rampage of messy destruction. Spider-Man's reputation would have been tarnished for certain if this was real. Not a great issue - it suffers from a bit of decompression. It does, however, have the cliffhanger ending leading us into the next issue. The cover is fine - but I do generally hate those inserted circles from other scenarios. Wish there had been a bit more REAL conclict.
