This issue really tries to sort out the three way balance between Ninjak, Aric, and the Vine. First - let me re-iterate that this version of Ninjak - the one who is a total awesome dude - is a great version. Don't be so quick to launch the comic - for a few reasons. First - my wallet is starting to suffer. Really. I can't take many more of these 1:50 and 1:125... YIKES! Major thanks for releasing just the ONE version of this comic this month. For that I am grateful. But also, this character could be quickly over-exposed - or ruined - with all of these changes and independence. The Vine are developing nicely - and I look forward to the upcoming Planet Death - especially with such roundness in the alien race.
Change of name
I loved this comic - immensely. Mads may disagree, but by this issue, the New Universe had taken a distinct turn into greatness. The comic brought back a previously pretty lame villain, and made him into a downright terrifying dude. So much, that one of the Troubleshooters loses his life by the end of the issue - and not in some lame jump in front of a laser way. He gets killed in the battle. Another thing to really raise is how the comic really has dropped the MAXX armor almost completely out of the comic by now. Not certain if the feel was too silly or what - but it has a distinctly stronger feel. This issue could have been saved - and perhaps nearly was. But early failures doomed it.
