It's sad to see that only rolling into its last little story that Harbinger finally got a bit of a taste of where it should have gone. This story is excellent. Now don't get me wrong. I don't like the re-interpretation of Faith - and she has become much more - and less - than she has been in the past. But the pacing of the story - and its line - has been excellent. I am finally getting SOME kind of an affinity for each character. I actually went back and read it twice. The first time - back on the third - I didn't write a review. But returning to it was a welcome refreshment.
Introducing... The newest X-Man
Of course I always had a soft spot in my heart for this issue. The first appearance of the first new X-Man - Calvin Rankin - and the non-mutant member, too. I remember when I purchased this issue those long months ago, and started on a quest to own all of the X-Men first appearances. The comic seems to hold up surprisingly well, too. It follows the similar tragic path, but the cover is lovely - and the story kinda works, too. I am certain that the story is closer to me because of my own personal connection, but how CAN'T you like this guy, right? Now, I just need to hunt down X-Men 27 and 29... Hmmm...
