But a rather enjoyable one. This was one of the last duplicate covers I had in my connection - and once you get around the sort of Walking Dead revers homage, it isn't a bad comic. But some things came together too quickly. I like that SOMEONE else could survive the conversion process, but it has seemed a little super-soldier reminiscent. The fights in this one seem motivated - and connected - but I don't really care for any of the minor people, at all. I'm having a difficult time keeping everyone straight from picture to picture. I know it's trying to stay pretty not judgmental, but it's also not a ton of fun yet.
Last issue, I had real compliments for Sub-Mariner
I will not be doing that this month. Back to the old science fiction display ideals. Out of ideas? BRING IN SOMETHING FROM SPACE, of course! This robot that attacks Attuma - and is defeated rather quickly, right? How could THAT be the best way to attack someone who you can't defeat? And anyone else wonder why the ocean kingdoms are in SUCH disarray all the time? Can anyone lead them for more than a few seconds? I am going to say not-so-nice things about an industry icon now. The Gil Kane art in the Hulk section is pretty bad. Juvenile, even. I don't know how he got the job, but I am certain why he didn't keep it here. Just being a fill-in comic doesn't mean to be terrible at it. I didn't hate the story, though. Just the drawings. In fact, a few of them have quite an ability to tell a story. The pieces of paper at the General's feet are particularly poignant. And Boomerang being lost down the hole when Hulk changes back is pretty cool.
