But the contents don't quite fit together. It's strange. Because the comic is actually following good advice. Ditch the jump and explode. Imrpove the art. Get back to character. But the pieces don't fit at all to form a better whole. They are much, much worse. And it's too bad. It just feels like the story is in desperate need of a do-over to eliminate the focus. It's so concerned with not really letting anything ever happen. It's also embraced too much the advent of the art. Every panel needs to have some grandiose postulating - or extensive movement. Bleah.
Forget this arc and start over.
Just last issue
Just last issue, I was extolling the virtues of this book, remembering how great the Sub-Mariner as a hero was, and this issue, it turns into a mess. The villain is captured with a well-placed net? If that was all it took to capture Krang, the my goodness - we should have done this sooner - especially if the net didn't even have a bottom. Hulk, surprisingly is the more interesting part of this comic. I liked the conflict - and the fight. I also liked the fact that the roles were somehow reversed in the comic - seeing both sides of the characters - and the misunderstood monster.
