I love the villain Ax. He is dark, hard and evil. But this is a silly little attack on Bloodshot through a projection of a kooky little robot. The comic isn't terrible, but it certainly has fallen to the bottom of my interests in Valiant at this stage. I know it gets better - or at least the covers tend to get better. Every issue can't be a masterpiece, but someone called in the issue. I don't think Ax is his greatest enemy, but I do think he can be his coolest enemy. In this month, though, big yawn. Strange that most of the art in the comic was better than the cover.
Yuck.
Well, the story wasn't terrible - but little cover appeal here. Especially since the Hulk doesn't even get to a point where he's facing this guy until the last three panels of the story. But... The Sub-Mariner story has come a LONG way. Funny since most of the story I haven't really enjoyed until now. But this turn in the page is rather excellent. I especially like the cross-cut editing - back and forth with Atlantis being taken over, and back to Sub-Mariner again. The Hulk story is interesting, too. I like the concept pf Hulk getting more bombarded with gamma and becoming more protected - yes - the phony science of the bullet is bad - but I like the Hulk trapped with Banner's brain - and sort of the back, too.
