First - I like the BRIEF Boniface reference. But most of the comic is so strange. It seems to flip back and forth so many times that I really can't keep track of it. Our new anti-hero... Zero... is obsessed with a teddy bear? And vodka? And is a killer? This one SHOULD have worked. ENNIS, for crying out loud. It even has the ability to cross that line of appropriateness for comics. I took it away from someone who was planning on showing it to her son. The art is EVERYWHERE, though. In defense of the comis - I loved the prediction - especially the line about how it's going to happen. And the Voyage of Sinbad line was great, too. I just don't know HOW it had a problem at so many levels - and the marketing seemed to be EVERYWHERE. Just the wrong idea.
The Iron Man story gets messy.
And couldn't we have know to wrap the infernal thing together? It seems to flit around the cover - trying to bring things together but really failing. FIND the end, and GET there. Whiplash is so busy NOT revealing who in the world his boss is, we don't GET a resolution here - there actually is some kind of a special issue for that. Ugh. The Captain America story is good - but also doesn't lead to the real resolution. I THINK That one goes into Captain America 100. Really, Zemo should have been the lead on the cover. THAT would have sold books - not this James Bond laser thing pointed at Tony.
