The comic isn't good. But it isn't wretched anymore. It has the faintest bit of a story wrapped somewhere within it. Unfortunately, it's very distant. Back on earth. Ever wonder why when aliens land on our planet, they always choose the MOST red-neck-y out of the way people to run into? And somehow these yahoos are travelling to the Statue of Liberty? Here we are again.
Ugh. These are even too painful to really review. Medication may be necessary.
I don't know if it's the greatest...
But the Iron Man side still has quite a bit to like here. I liked the saving of Happy - and while a lot happens very quickly, it's easy to like the change over of the comic from fighting each part over and getting to the story. A few moments in the comic would certainly be seen as disturbingly racist by today's standards - I don't think it crosses over into slurs. The Cap side is down to its lower self. Not much to be thankful for - even if it might be the greatest action sequence of whatever arbitrary time frame. At least it had some portrayal of a minority character as some bit of a not too extremely crazy person. I was worried that he would be a traitor by the end of the comic - but he died instead.
