So finally this crushing problem came to some kind of a quick defeat - and it took forever. The art is polished - but I wouldn't call it good. It's too refined - and too streamlined. At least the story reads quickly - because it's pretty bad. The cover is kind of cool. I like how it works together - but the colors are all so strange - and overblown. I'm even finding it difficult to wrap up into the story all of the discussion. There just wasn't anything in it to discuss. Bleagh. I did like the double reference to the control ring - and that was how Aric destroyed him. But for crying out loud. Bleah.
Return of the other side.
The Iron Man story starts out pretty good. In fact, most of the story is pretty good. But a big section of it is wrecked. By the roller skate wheels that eject themselves from the boots? This is what Tony installs to fight Titanium Man? Roller skates? Is this Dazzler's first appearance or something? I don't hate the story - that may be really saying something. If I can look beyond the roller skate wheels to realize that most of the rest of the story is decent - than THAT is saying something. The Captain America story may be the first Captain America story that I have actually enjoyed in this run. It introduced Super-Adaptoid - in this comic called Adaptoid. And he is sweet. Having the powers to emulate most of the people he encountered, he drives Cap into madness, and then subdues him by overtaking everything, and holds over onto the next issue. Fantastic.
This one was easy.
Even with the skates, I pick Tales. That's how bad X-O 50-X has gotten.
