Nice little turns in the book here. I like to feel Sears art running around. It wasn't my favorite era of Manowar - but it has returned to the foolish barbarian feeling of old. The lines are a bit too tongue in cheek, and a few of the poses and postures are silly. Along with some exaggerated female forms... But the story isn't bad - Aric going crazy destroying half of an attack force - but misses out on some of the major players, and good old Ken is abducted. He seems a bit too much like a Daphne kind of character - but seeing Turok playing opposite to Aric was welcome, as well. All in all not a bad issue.
It starts out well.
The first story is interesting. Nice to see Iron Man in action - and really, this is the Silver to Bronze Age transition. Iron Man may be at the front curve of the change. The art is rich and dimensional - and the dialogue - while corny - is a pretty good take on the upgrading. I don't feel much like the silly stand-up commentary - and trumpets blazing announcements. Even the closing scene - which is corny - really brings the reality back into the scope of the story. Cap is another story. Nick Fury is here - and that's good. I guess. But the story is weak - again brought down by its reliance on the silly sciences of the book. HYDRA uniforms - or what may become HYDRA are back - and they bring the villain down with knockout gas?
