Mads reads X-O
I love Valiant comics, but why is there so much dying and violence in them? Anyway, loved this comic. I especially loved that he can't understand anyone, so he has to talk in his mind. I also love that they call Ken "the traitor." I wonder why........

Are we on, Nick?
Alright, then. Hi! I'm Mads and this is Mads's Marvel talk show. Today we're talking about Tales of Suspense #39. Iron Man- great comic. Awesome concept. Especially loved the tales of suspense. I LOVE that Stark is scared to remove the suit. We have to have a shorter show today because today is Bagel Day in the cafeteria, so I gotta go if I want any blueberry oat or starfruit banana bagels with strawberry cream cheese, so bye, comic lovers!

Tricks and treachery
What a great story. So much of the character continues to get revealed through both his perspective and of that around him. I never really liked the 'inner-monologue' as part of dialogue or storytelling - especially during comics. I'm not saying to the point of Lord of the Rings - with NO omniscience - but certainly limits need to be seen.
However, this book does a pretty good job of dancing in and out over it. Aric is sensible, with ancient sets of morals. The world, however, is moving quickly past them. Of course, his habits of war and interactions bear little resemblance to any set of morals. It's great to see that conflict, though. I also liked the Spider-Aliens treachery - both of the queen and 'king,' but also the set to capture Aric. They've become more than just an amoral enemy. Ken, too, is establishing himself. Becoming one of my favorite supporting characters, quickly. |
Do not wait to strike till the iron is hot; but make it hot by striking.

WOW this one was tough. X-O is excellent - but I have to give this round to Iron Man. A classic.
