Quantum & and doing a pretty good has been my favorite 'Valiant' comic for quite a while now. Certainly it had been my fave Acclaim comic. I remember putting down the last issue, and feeling a deep need to go back and start over at the start of issue 1 again. It had some rougher parts, but was one of the most consistent - and certainly hysterical - books. This one doesn't QUITE deliver as full a punch - and perhaps I have too high of expectations - but I do like it a lot. It has some distance to go - and am I the only person who doesn't exactly 'fawn' over the goat? This has a pretty good beginning - and starts off pretty similarly to the start of the first comic - but the reference to the hid yo kids guy is probably too dated - and will date this comic, too. But I am too harsh here. The comic is a danged funny one. Rewarding, original, and doing a pretty good job so far of jostling back and forth the seriousness and the humor. The art is expressive, and the story has potential - but still needs some punch to beat through. Don't give up on it, though. This may be the biggest Valiant hit of the bunch yet.
