Another out of the park smash crazy hit. The first issue was good - but this one really dug right into the humor of the book. It is still really sidestepping most of the really tough issues that Quantum & Woody in its original incarnation embraced, but the humor part is really running on every cylinder now. I found myself laughing out loud on multiple occasions while reading. I know that the quick flashback is more than likely looking ahead toward a few issues that Woody probably faced in foster care, but in only five panels? The one real suggestion I would give is to work on the interstitial titles more. A little bland, still. The art by Fowler is doing a few brilliant physical and spatial tells, as well. When Woody is making his comments about why he switched out of his costume - and being careful about my wording here - and then the next panel has a quick out step - to include all others in the room, it pulls us back to the rest of the story, as well. The characterization of Woody is stepping forward nicely. Both his dark womanizing perspective, as well as his constantly saying the just wrong thing, and then jumping back to restate. Even Eric has one or two, as well. The first moments when the cops pull guns on the two, and Woody's excuse for what really is going on - priceless. Very topical, as well. It also seems to be either hitting my own perspectives - or better yet - equally attacking all around. I truly hope that is where it's been heading. The wishing the explosion had killed me also could be that iconic moment of the series. Nice homage to the old series, and setting down new tracks, too. Singing Dukes of Hazard? Fantastic. Keep this up.
