When I gushed at the virtues of the comic? That was last month. This month is a much more subdued clap. It had an outstanding jump last month - and this month not so much. It's way better that the piece of junk over there. But it's far from last month. Not much even really happens. In fact, after last month - I was hoping for... Well, I was hoping for one to kill the other - even though I know that was outta the cards. I had hoped for a continued escalation of the conflict - resulting in... Well, I don't know what, really. But this seemed even trite at the end. In spite of the cool Lincoln quote at the end.
When the Hulk strikes...
Nobody really cares. This story is reminding me more and more of those old tales within the early sci-fi transition over to the super hero - FF comics. When the new heroes would fight against beings from outer space - making the grandiose attempts to cover our world. At least in those stories it was due to some great attempt that the team made to halt the aggression. Here, it seems by dumb luck that the Hulk wins. And now, in the last page, is inserted some silly thing that links over to the next book like an old serialized television show. Please skip ahead on these.
Uh...
I don't know if Hulk can ever win one of these again.
