This has been a strong love-hate relationship - so let me say that I love and hate this book. Been reading along with the messed up order - and it really put things together that shouldn't have been - but made me re-focus on a few things that have been dropped off of the map here. We should be examining the future connection - and not some crazed alternate section of temporary created villains here. With that said - if I am not thinking about the ignored sections of the book - it actually reads okay. I just don't think it survives well as a book hanging out on its own - instead of the book connecting all of the Acclaim new continuity together.
Bleah.
Remember last month when I loved the Avengers? THAT was last month. This one is another train wreck. It felt awkward from the beginning - despite the pretty cool opening full page panels. It just felt forced and like a fill-in story from the start. No real committment to any character - and a fight between a fire and ice giant. Wow. This is pathetic. And it COULD have been something really cool - develop the characters - and show how their interactions grown WITHOUT Van Dyne and Pym in the mix of the insanity. Too bad. I like the characters, too. It feels like the story almost needs to have the background parts around them to make any sense. That Vision doesn't really have a story yet - and Black Knight and Panther have flipped too far beyond theirs. And the inclusion of Dr. Strange. What a crazy character he is already - but adding the ghost form and the BLUE guy. That goes over the edge.
