It isn't without flaws. But it doesn't have many. Especially when Bloodshot is in the action - it's very easy to follow. And the slow development over the conflict at the grave site - the slow burn was intoxicating. And fun to listen. Bloodshot is really a great extension that plays into the old characterization of Bloodshot - and completely putting down the new tracks. I may even like this character more than the new one. I keep stumbling over that in my brain. If this character were introduced - as is - in the current VEI, would it be successful? And a big part of me believes that it would be. Of course, it would need updating - but much of the story could really survive. This re-incarnation of the character really works. And is a lot of fun.
What a mess...
Some reads of this, I don't know how the Hulk could have survived as a comic for so long. Occasionally, an issue really reaches out and brings something amazing to the table, but usually it follows just a senseless mashing of people - or in this case creatures - trying to execute the Hulk. The creature ends up getting executed by some raging set of people intending to stop - or just slow down - the Hulk. In a decent moment, the Hulk slows down to save a child - and this is the kind of heart that needs to come out more in the comic. Then, the gun is trained on the Hulk, poised to kill... And it's Hulk-inued. Ugh.
