May 27, 2012 - What's that thing about the mighty, again?
To fall so far
I really don't know how the book lost its way SO much. Everything in the title became the most careless garbage storytelling. The art is slipshod - and I don't know why. Sometimes it looks homage filled, and other times it looks juvenile. The shading, for instance - the inking - so SO bad. Just looks pretty darned silly. But the biggest injury to the book is the lack of heart within it. I don't care for Archer. I don't like Armstrong. He went from knowledgeable to bumbler - and Archer to a bit savvy. Even the boy throwing his arms around Archer is so sappy and silly. It lost everything at the end. Everything.
What a mess
My first experience with a marriage was Spider-Man 21 marriage to MJ. That was an insane thing. I bought it for the Wolverine on the cover. This is a complete MESS! EVERYONE appears in it. In costume, of course. All to try and wreck the wedding. The best part about it is Stan and Jack being turned away from the wedding at the end, and breaking that storytelling wall to talk about drawing, etc. The story is at best really bad. This one and then that one, then ANOTHER one and another, all showing up to destroy the wedding. All are quickly vanquished, with little effort, but EVERYONE HAS to show up once. The only good thing about it is Jack and Stan, but it is worth it.
Answers?
Why would anyone pick Archer & Armstrong at this stage of the game? Oh, well.
