So, Rai introduces us to the new whiners. Apparently, Magnus didn't want to be left out. That's who Torque is becoming, as well. Ugh. The story starts with Torque running out on some girl, and taking a date that gets trashed by some steroid bound guy at an ice rink. Two groups of people try to arrest Torque in two days, and just when Torque thinks he has the upper hand, he realizes he's standing in front of a poster with his dad on it. Of course, everything is perfect in new North Am - no one to fight - and that's why we have bad dates, apparently. The next sets of comics will be tough reads at this pace.
So much in here.
This comic takes a pretty good turn. It is really starting to follow the whole to be continued next issue thing. That's one of the best things of the era. It also turns the team against itself. While it's a bit too hokey with the whole Wizard machine hypnotizing people - it does pit the teams against one another. Now, the book has some terrible sections in it, too. Reed being closed up in the metal bottle, and Sue fainting at trying to open it are two of the worst. But having this rather good team to fight against is excellent. Paste Pot Pete - to trapster - and Wizard are dopey, but Sandman and Medusa are excellent. To be finished!
