The Magnus at the end of the Valiant days was garbage. Confusing, mislead, and trying to be much too big. This one really should work. It's essentially a re-telling of one of the best stories ever written in comics. But it doesn't make it. It looks the part, and even feels the part. But the comic tries too hard to incorporate too much of the story in everything. It's Magnus, crossed with Soylent Green, crossed with a double-cross that every child reading this saw from the beginning - along with a hint of Back to the Future, and a prediction of where WALL-E would go, as well. It isn't terrible, but it is less than the sum of its parts - and trying much too hard to be everything. While I am often a fan of the reboot attempt, this one goes too far.
FOREVER! Or, like... 14 months...
Galactus vowed to NEVER return to earth again... Unless he looked really hard for like - a year. And then! Just bring back the Surfer or don't bring him back, right? So, he's back now. And the issue is okay - once I get over my being annoyed at the overuse of him. And the Punisher is back. That's him on the cover - in green, kids. Yes. The FF fights Galactus's minion, and handily defeat him - in place of the Silver one, and that may bring Galactus back... To the microverse? If that's where this one is going, I may have a problem. But so far, it has SOME promise.
