This was a strange one, yes. So, Magnus is on the attack against all of the Malevs in South America to preserve the rainforest and eliminate its production of oxygen on the planet. Of course, the science is poor. Most oxygen comes from bluegreen algae, but... The story is a cool start. I liked the attempts to save the rainforest - and LOVED the parallel storytelling at the beginning. The story was fun, though. Entertaining, crazy, and pretty good.
Sub-Mariner in. And on!
One of the things I've liked over the last few issues is Thing's approach to the fourth wall. It's one of my favorite concepts as characters go. The mentions of comics, making fun of the Flame on, etc. I am not a fan of the insertions of news photos in halftone onto the pages. While I'm certain revolutionary at the time, today it seems very dated. The issue isn't bad, mind you. It's starting to make a serious turn into the silver Age. I don't know how well many of these books sold, or how well they were doing in comparison to other books at the time, but it is making a name for itself.
