Wow. This was probably closest to what I always had thought the Eternal Warrior would or could have been - way back when. So much was set into motion quickly through the story - that it was difficulty to entirely keep track of everything. The entire set-up of this new world. The characters, the lack of mechanism, etc. How Gilad had changed over the years. Even way back in the early Unity books, the future Eternal Warrior had changed, slightly. This gave him the feel of really seeing the world - and giving him a sense of Twilight. But also great to place him in a few different roles so quickly. That of protector over his tiny society. That of father/ grandfather figure. But also - and importantly here, to the role of warrior. He quickly defeated his foe - and we remember that he's still no slouch. But he also really connected with his world around himself. The sense of calm - and his environmental consciousness were strong and put forward. Loved it. This clashed in about a hundred different ways with what I had envisioned the future - and was an entirely new take. But it absolutely felt that Rai could come forth from these cities - in a new fashion, certainly. But he had that connection to the future - and possibility for it, too. This version of Gilad as a stand-in for Magnus really connected both sides of the Valiant universe. Great work.
