This cover is SWEET! Strange how the perspective changes on the book when seen all around. The book, though, is a strange one. A TON happens in the book, though. Messy and fun. We see the back story of the Shadowman of the past - and may have even preferred to stay in the past for longer, or even explored this story a bit more. Don't wait just for issue zero. Tease MORE in this book. Then we go back and see Elya of the future and the magenta-haired crazy person. He comes back again - ugh. Then the most interesting part - Jack chooses to NOT kill Darque when he has the chance. We also learn that two Shadowmen can't exist at the same time, and it's why he keeps moving from place to place. Then, he runs into himself at the end.
Chameleon and... The Enforcers?
Man do I hate the Enforcers. It's all I could think when I looked at the cover. At least they left Fancy Dan at home. The book has an already different feel to it. Mr. Fear has a good costume - it kind of reminds me of the old Taskmaster. Fun and kind of silly. But the paneling in the middle of the issue really takes massive steps forward. The change in artist to Wally Wood really shows here. The comic is pretty good - even with these crummy-ish villains. Kinda making a big turn here.
