This comic beat senselessness out of any reader up to this point who believed that this may have not been an all-out assault on the streamlined easy going comic up to here. The cover isn't my favorite - at least the regular one - but the comic kept hitting high notes. I need to go back and read it again. It reads even better a second time. I keep saying that Bloodshot reads better as a unit story - instead of as individual issues. This one coulc easily go both ways. It's a masterpiece. It combines the essential part of any great story - overcoming fears. In this case both Bloodshot and the kids confront Gamma - an out of control insane person with a penchant for causing damage. She may have even caused the first major catastrophe in the book. We get a somewhat ambiguous ending, but terrifyingly satisfying read - both as a book, and a conclusion to this story.
Bang em up.
At least it is getting a little better, right? The story has taken some serious turns from its first what in the world is going on in this comic land to a newer one. It has a darker edge, and less of the surfing through the mushroom land escapade, right? This comic had a dark villain - kept most of the history so far, and most importantly, wasn't like a really strange drug trip. The cover depicts the following, and most certainly had some connection to the story - but only at its real conclusion. I liked Tensen here, and the darkness watching him. But it still is at the bottom of the pile of the New Universe stuff.
