I don't know if I'll go that far. Yet. But it most certainly hitched up quite a few of the loose ends within the time stream, and also brought together much of the future. It also put down the tracks that Archer & Faith would end up together at some point in the future - at least in this time stream. I liked the new revelations from the 'Archies.' While the old Valiant, they were much more the watchers and observers, this time around, the comic leaves a lot of space for them - as pacifists - to be real jerks. The Nazi example is a bit too harsh for my tastes, but thousands of years in the future, things could change along with perspectives. The comic is a sound one - and great to see the Timewalker appear again. The tension between Mary-Maria and Armstrong is excellent. Great to see all sides - first - his real judgement against her parents. Second - that she is no longer 'under the spell' of that judgement. And finally, her idolatry of Aram at the end of the book. Many small developments in a lot of different characters going through the book. Finally, while the book had smaller levels of humor - or perhaps more sophistication in the humor - it fit well. Perhaps it is backing off from the harshness of the past few issues - or leaving some of the insane humor. It could also be that it is making the space for the Quantum & Woody comic.
Some pent up emotions.
This comic really had some issues with the old Shooter - and his departure. If Ken is really supposed to be a version of Shooter - his attacks are certain and straight to the soul. Even his slight contrition is excellent. And an admission of the absolute failure. even the accusations - does he use his powers to do anything except get girls? Wow. Ouch. The comic is a relatively good one. It is easy to follow - and even through my daughter's sleep over party, I found myself rather engrossed. Not certain about the change in art - sometimes I liked it, and sometimes I did not. The revelation with Duck - although STRONGLY telegraphed, was a bit of a surprise - but Ken's really ignorant perspective on her - and most of the people around him were striking criticisms of Shooter.
