A pretty good - and funny issue. It was a crazy ride, but a fun one. I always say that I like the issues when the books don't do very much - when they focus on the mundane and humane issues of the characters. This is absolutely one. A fun and interesting comic. Quite the fun ride, certainly. It approaches the issue of what to do with a villain - especially a powerful villain - after being apprehended. Gayle and Phil argue during the Christmas preparations, and both fight over how to reasonably attend the parties. Great issue.
The clown?
Ringmaster? YEAH! Clown and his amazing Masters of Menace? Not amazing. BOO! What a train wreck of a comic. Some Silver Age stuff was like this. They can't all be Dr. Octopus, right? This was far from it. Every villain seems like a caricature, and the story seems like a re-hashed version of nearly every Spidey story up to this point. Ugh. Cute costumes all around, but especially the Spidey signal thing is terrible.
