Not a bad issue. This villain runs onto some of the residue from the SOLAR and Dr. Eclipse battle from before - and it turns him into some kind of a conductor or battery for life forces. Quickly - TOO quickly - he becomes an addict. One of the best parts about SOLAR is his totally normal self - the how does a man with cosmic powers survive in the environment? Those parts of this are great. It's the battle part of the comic that doesn't seem as reasonable. He could pretty easily defeat the guy in about a hundred ways - but plays too nicely - and fair. GET HIM!
Did anyone else ever show up?
I'm starting to think there was some secret affection going on one way or another. These two just ran into each other WAY too often. This time, it seems that the Beetle - one of five versions - is in town, and he's been eavesdropping on Torch and his gal pal. Yes, really. She wants the hothead to not flame on for 24 hours. Beetle uses it for his advantage - and draws Spidey to the battle. The early versions of the costume are a bit too functional for realistic tastes. Can you imagine these giant suction cups AND wings? The book is silly, but okay.
