The issue brings back Phil's father. A crazy scenario - because on top of the issue with his ability to control everything, he has a completely screwed up home life. His Dad was a selfish little man - and it hurt Phil as a kid. Oh, and of course. Phil uses his powers to go on the attack against a few people within the community that go on the search. I like SOLAR. Sort of like how I hated Superman. He attacks real life problems within the scope of super powers. It's a shame that stupid Dark Horse has wrecked their ownership.
At least Goblin's back
The Green Goblin is back - and he's employing the new glider and the pumpkin bombs to excess. The story has a good premise - trying to get into the gang by taking over, and pushing most of the members to the side. Not a bad idea. But the story just ignores most of the more complex bits of storytelling that could be employed. It's a problem with the Silver Age - ignoring most of the more complex parts of stories to appeal to a lower denominator. Even the ads at this time appeal to the blue collar reader. Of course, the Bronze Age is coming. But can't get here soon enough.
Meh.
Neither issue is really worth memorability - but at least Spidey has the Goblin.
