Okay, NOBODY liked Valiant Vision. Including me. It was kinda dumb. Sorta 3D overload. Prophetic, huh? Funnily enough, it holds up GREAT years later. I'm looking through the glasses, and I'm impressed at how good it looks. To top it off, they looked by those silly red and green lenses and just did this. WAY ahead of everyone else. It's also WAY ahead of its time. VV wasn't launched until SOLAR 29 - TEN months later. Not BAD! The issue, though? Well, let's say there's a REASON I started with the VV stuff. It's terrible. I understand the sneak attack on readers, but after a few of the missteps lately, this book is in desperate need of success. Notice the BWS on the cover, though? Took me until today to notice!
The Enforcers? WWE?
When one of your villains is named 'Fancy Dan,' and loves to dance, you know you're in for a ride. This book has some of the WORST villains ever introduced. Spidey had gone through a strong set of great ones, and was due a stumble. Here it is. In its defense, the opposite side of the story is pretty darned good. The interaction between him and Betty is excellent. It will lead into the next story, and well down the road. I also liked the warnings to J Jonah about running ANOTHER story lying about Spider-Man's origin, and ruining the paper's reputation. I don't know how or why Spidey suspected Jameson as the leader of the gang, but at least the story closed on the Enforcers.
Winner? Does there deserve to be one?
I guess Spider-Man, but both of them are skippable.
