I don't remember reading this the first time around - I don't think I was still collecting. I don't even remember reading it the second time. This time, though, is UNFORGETTABLE. What an experience. If you haven't lately gone back to read, it is worth a look. The late middle gets a little. Preachy, perhaps? Silly? Don't know. But this is pretty worth the trip. Great battle royale between Sting and Harada - culminating in the excising of the character. And while some of this may have been a little too far - and from what I have re-read, some of it is too unbelievable, this one was a great little ride.
Avengers Assemble
Hydraulic extendo arms vs. artificial dust devil. I wish I were joking. Ugh. The really bad science had a nasty temperance of destroying all that I could see through the story of the issues. Just terrible. The story again, isn't all too wretched. At least the Avengers can make a little bit of a joke about when two heroes meet always misinterpreting each other first, then attacking. Lucifer isn't a bad villain - in fact, he's interesting - especially in Xavier's history. But the giant bomb. Sheesh. The attacks on Lucifer, and the dismantling of the bomb are fine. But letting him go at the end? FIND A PRISON!
